Dr. Gorica Stanojevié is a Research Associate at the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijie" Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade (SASA). At the same institute, she has been the head of the Physical Geography Department since 2018.
Dr. Stanojevic is an Editor for Physical Geography of the Journal of the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijié" SASA. Her research interests include physical geography, climatology, environmental modeling, and applied geographical research. She actively publishes and reviews a number of scientific papers for highly-rated international scientific journals. She participated in several international scientific conferences and projects, and she attended a number of professional seminars and schools in the country and abroad. Based on her previous work, she has made a significant scientific contribution in the field of synoptic climatology, analysis of climate factors and spatiotemporal variability of climatic elements and extreme climate events in Serbia; in applied studies of the renewable energy potential in Serbia regarding solar and wind energy; air quality studies; in the field of solar activity and related natural hazards. Also, she was included in the project of creating and modeling geospatial data sets as an alternative method for monitoring population changes in Serbia and conducting social science research
